AV technology of the year
The award will recognise the best new audio-visual (AV) display, projection or effects technology launched to market in 2008/09. This category is open to all lighting AV display, projection or effects technology manufacturers selling their products in the Middle East, either directly or in partnership with a local distributor.

Event organiser of the year
The Middle East live events production industry delivered an impressive number of major events in 2008/09. This award will recognise the company or companies responsible for delivering the best organised event during this period. Nominees for the award must demonstrate professionalism and integrity in their approach to a particular project, from conception to completion.

Lighting designer of the year
The past 12 months has proven a landmark period in the development of the professional lighting industry in the Middle East. This category is open to all individuals and organisations who have delivered lighting design projects to the highest standard over the course of 2008/09.

Sound engineer of the year
Optimum sound quality is vital during any live event or concert and audio engineers play a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of sound distribution and reproduction are delivered to the highest standard. Nominees must have demonstrable professional experience working in a large-scale live entertainment environment during 2008/09.

Equipment rental project of the year
This award will recognise the significant role equipment rental suppliers play in producing major events in the Middle East. Nominees must demonstrate excellence in every facet of their commercial operations, from delivering on-location service support to providing the latest technological solutions for their clients. Nominations should highlight a particular project or projects delivered over the course of 2008/09.

Venue of the year
Continued demand for live entertainment events has resulted in an ever increasing number of new venues cropping up across the Middle East. This award will recognise the best new venue to open in the region over the course of 2008/09. The category is open to all operators of nightclubs as well as indoor and outdoor venues.

Live event security company of the year
Security plays a key role in ensuring the overall success of a live event. This award will acknowledge the most outstanding overall event security services supplier. Nominees for the award must demonstrate a first-rate approach to all aspects of their operations.

Young achiever of the year
The young achiever award recognises the best new talent to emerge in the Middle East live events production scene in 2008/09. The category is open to all individuals under the age of 25 who demonstrate commitment, ambition and enthusiasm in their pursuit of a career in the live events production industry.

OHS champion award
In a bid to promote the implementation of stringent occupational health and safety (OHS) practices, this award will recognise the company or organisation that has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring the highest OHS standards in their own commercial operations. Nominees must provide documentation and other evidence in support of their application for this award.

Distributor of the year
This award will recognise excellence in the product distribution sector. Potential nominees include single-brand and multi-brand distributors, exclusive brand-rights holders, resellers and pan-regional organisations. The winner must demonstrate excellence in every facet of their commercial operation, from fostering strong client service relationships and after-sales service, to brand promotion and marketing.
