Meyer Sound has announced the formation of Meyer Sound Middle East, which will be the firm’s first regional base.
To be located in Dubai Media City in the UAE, the office will serve the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and North Africa, putting customers “in closer reach to Meyer Sound’s offerings that include technical support, design services, and education, in addition to its high-performance loudspeakers, active acoustic technology, and system integration tools,” according to executive vice-president Helen Meyer.
“The development of the AV industry in the Middle East has made it essential for us to form a strategic presence in Dubai, which will serve as an important regional hub for our business operations in the territory,” says Meyer.
“This new office will give local audio professionals better access to the complete portfolio of our products and services, and allow us to respond quickly to our clients’ needs.”
The new office will be under the direct supervision of US-based Mauricio Saint Martin, director of Middle East sales, who spoke to Sound & Stage during the PALME exhibition in Dubai.
S&S: What will be the primary function of the new office? Saint Martin: The office will primarily provide a full scope of technical support, which includes design services, system tunings and our unparalleled education program, This is something we’ve wanted to do for the past two or three years, and we feel now is the right time.
Our strategy is to respond faster to our clients and spend more face to face time with them, we have a vast amount of installations in the region that we need to look after. We currently supply this support but flying people over from Europe or the US is not very cost-efficient.
It makes more sense for us to have a base here and be able to quickly and effectively offer that support - we are absolutely sure that this will improve the overall customer satisfaction.
The formation of our new office is the culmination of the momentum we have in the region and we look forward to working more closely with our partners with this strengthened support structure and providing them with more direct and timely access to Meyer Sound’s technical expertise.
How will this affect your role?
I will manage the office, which means I’m going to spend more time here in Dubai and the region in general, that will not affect my role at all, I love this part of the world.
