Abu Dhabi-based media precinct twofour54 has announced the launch of a development fund for Arabic applications for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
The AppsArabia fund will be offered by twofour54 ibtikar, which provides funding and support to start-up and early stage Arabic content initiatives.
AppsArabia will be able to provide commercial guidance, resources and marketing support for applications and will also create an online community and marketplace for them – www.appsarabia.com.
“The iPhone operating system is the most advanced mobile platform,” said Tony Orsten, CEO, twofour54. “With more than four billion apps already downloaded, there is a huge opportunity for developers in the Middle East. Mobile adoption is soaring here and AppsArabia will empower Arab entrepreneurs to address the growing demand for local content.”
Twofour54’s tadreeb training academy has also been appointed a Pro-Apps Apple Authorised Training Centre (AATC).
The certification and training courses will follow Apple’s official pro applications curriculum.
Courses in Apple’s Aperture, Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Server and Logic Studio and will be delivered by Apple certified trainers.
