A management shake-up at Abu Dhabi film fund Imagenation has seen former Filmworks exec Rami Yasin appointed head of production, while current vice president of development Daniela Tully’s remit has been expanded to include all creative affairs for Emirati film production.
Yasin will work alongside Tully, who joined Imagenation Abu Dhabi last June. Tully will now oversee all creative affairs for regional Emirati film production in addition to content that falls under Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s Participant Media and National Geographic partnerships.
Imagenation’s Arabic content division plans to reveal the first film in a slate of Arab projects in the coming weeks.
“Rami’s outstanding expertise in regional production paired with Daniela’s commitment and contribution to Imagenation and Abu Dhabi this past year are tremendous assets to the company,” said Imagenation Abu Dhabi COO Stefan Brunner.
Yasin was previously the head of production and partner at Filmworks in Dubai where he was in charge of pitching, managing the company’s production roster, maintaining high-end production standards, servicing major international work and managing three teams of producers, managers and coordinators.
Yasin’s credits include Warner Brother’s Syriana, Universal’s The Kingdom, and Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies. He also wrote, directed and acted in the pilot for the Arabic sitcom, Marhabtain.
