JVC has announced a February launch date for its 2D to 3D converter. The IF-2D3D1 image processor can also act as a left/right mixer for 3D images and allow real-time, on-location monitoring for crews shooting in 3D.
The company has developed its own algorithms offering four 3D mixed formats combining left- and right-eye images. The only additional equipment required is a 3D capable monitor.
The IF-2D3D1 can also output discrete left and right signals via HD-SDI or HDMI for dual projection or editing.
Attendees of last year’s IBC exhibition were able to get a sneak preview of the box’s capabilities, which was on display at the JVC stand for the duration of the event. It will also be demonstrated at next month’s Broadcast Video Expo in London.
The 1-RU box will be priced at £25,220 (US $41,000).
