OmniGlobe Networks has confirmed a deal at IBC 2009 to supply the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) with DSNG technology designed specifically for the MENOS content exchange network.
OmniGlobe will work with Sat-Comm to deliver compact vehicle-based DSNG technologies that are tailored for the MENOS network.
Three Buckys will be equipped with mobile auto-deploy AuraSat 1.2m antenna systems as well as all the associated equipment required to convert video signals for direct transmission to a satellite.
The vehicles will also include video cameras as well as audio and video editing capabilities, and operate over multiple satellites, allowing digital transmission to the MENOS network.
The MENOS network is a content exchange system designed for the ASBU’s 28 member broadcasters scattered across the Middle East and North Africa.
The technology, developed by Newtec and hosted by Arabsat, won the coveted IBC Innovation Award for Content Delivery at this year’s convention.
