Meta-data aggregator Babeleye has announced the launch of its Dashboard meta-data management cloud application for generating electronic programme guides (EPG).
“With Dashboard, video distribution operators have full control over the content that is being fed into their EPGs,” said Hamid Ouddane, founder and managing director of Babeleye. “They can increase the time a viewer spends on their platforms by automatically recommending similar content such as a VOD product, a mobile broadcast, or Internet-only programming,” added Ouddane.
“This will help the industry to inform their viewers about the video content available in their language and that is of interest to them, on the devices they use to access that content, in whatever form that material is packaged and offered to the viewer.”
The data generated by Dashboard is formatted according to the editorial guidelines adopted by each operator, and in the languages they support. Babeleye Dashboard currently provides information in Arabic, Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, as well as English, French, and Italian. A Hindi option is currently in development.
Dashboard allows operators access to Babeleye servers, where the workload is handled, thus eliminating the need for further hardware investment.
“We are witnessing an increasing amount of video content offered by different operators, being pushed by media convergence and advances in infrastructure. So helping the viewer to select, choose and discover what suits their taste becomes paramount for success,” said Ouddane.
