Denon DJ has released a rack-mountable controller to support ‘Itch’ digital DJ software developed by New Zealand-based vinyl emulation specialist Serato.
The DN-HC5000 controller features a built-in 24-bit soundcard and is compatible with Serato HIDI technology, in a bid to increase responsiveness with the software.
“The Denon DJ DN-HC5000 is a great replacement for ageing CD players that are nearing the end of their lifespan,” Serato said in a statement.
“There are no lasers or bearings that can wear out and many DJs will find the form factor comfortably familiar to use.”
“Like all Itch products, it is pre-configured for easy set up and quick installation.”
Serato is set to release version 2.0 of the Itch software during the fourth quarter of 2009, and is collaborating with a number of DJ hardware manufacturers to resolve potential software compatibility issues.
